Baltimore’s Lower Dens consists of three dudes and Jana Hunter, a reclusive folkie who released a couple of albums on Devendra Banhart and Andy “Vetiver” Cabic’ label, Gnomonsong, before forming this excellent outfit.
Now with the release of their second album, Nootropics, they have confirmed themselves as darlings of everyone from Pitchfork to me to you, well, you can leave me out of that if you like. Anyway, I saw them a couple of years ago at the same time of the year and you should really take the night off and go down and see them, plus there’s that lovely outside fire they have there at the Kantine to keep you all warm.
